Somehow my index page disappeared, leaving me naked to the world. Not that there was anything bad there, just some unpublished galleries and ideas, and backups of my book text :O

I suspect that either Blogger.com or MarsEdit corrupted during an update (I had a crash that may have caused that to happen mid posting).
Anyway, it's back up online now.

And thanks for mentioning this Matt!

So Matt ... Now that Lightroom 2 is GA I was wondering how it is going to affect your blog and the information you provide? It occured to me yesterday (with the publication of your first LR2 tip) that there will come a time when it just won't be possible for you to continue to blog on two versions of LR. At what point do you plan on moving more towards LR2 and only occasionally reference LR1.4? It's inevitable and I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I ask because I have not yet upgraded to LR2. Call me a skeptic but I've been in the IT business more than 30-years and because I do it for a living, I prefer not to have to do a lot of troubleshooting on my personal software as well. I always let it cook a while before I purchase.

I have no doubt that LR2 is going to be an awesome product when ever I move to it. I'll probably do that before the end of the year but what kind of "tippage" can those of us not jumping right on the LR2 bandwagon now expect between now and the end of the year.

Still, you have an awesome site and provide some of the most outstanding information related to LR. I'll continue to read regardless of what track you take. Your stuff is just that good. It incorporates three of my favorite things:

It's Informative
It's Entertaining
It's Free

Regards,
Dennis

Hi Matt
First let me thank you for all your great help over the last year with LR
and a bunch of other photo stuff. I have just spen the better part of 2 hours adjusting and readjusting making virual copies using presets and anything I could think of to get some difrent looks and came up with several nice versions of the same photo. Then I started thinking what would someone else come up with and this gave me an idea for a post where someone sends you a raw file and you put your twist on it or anyone else and see how diffrent people see the same photo. anyway
just an idea

Thanks

It will be interesting to see what kind of plug-ins are developed by the industry for this package. Anyone have any interesting ideas?

Wow that gallery is pretty amazing. Really shows the power of LR2.

As for plugins it's an interesting topic. I know it would end the non destructive editing, but seems to me it would be great if for ex. wi did not need to open in PS, but rather PS just opened as a plugin within LR (or a part of PS) and then made it's PSD file right there. This might be great for say running an action from Photoshop, without opening the image PS itself.
