Matt, your tips are excellent.

Have you considered doing a video on how a Wacom tablet might be set up? I'm thinking what functions you'd assign to the buttons/touchstrip.

There must be lots of LR users who have graphics tablets for other software and would benefit greatly if they were able to set it up for a speedy and logical workflow. There is an (expensive) product I saw advertised recently which has a separate keypad to navigate around LR2 and perform incremental adjustments by finite jumps. Obviously the Wacom has less buttons, but salient ones could be utilised.

Thanks again

Matt, something else,

I'm sort of looking for a blessing of sorts. There are many Spanish speaking Adobe users and neophytes out there, and I'm thinking of starting my own Podcast. I've been using Photoshop since it first came out in PC version (back in the early 90's). I remember being super-excited, and then it poped p and going"WTF?! What do I do now???" Gulp!"

I'm partially self-taught, but I've reveled and wallowed in books such as Deke McClellan's Photoshop 6 Bible; my performance skyrocketed after that!

Thing is, by now it's all a muddle. I lost Deke's when I moved, together with many others (but I remember who to ask), and you would obviously be one of them. Shoulders of giants. If I do an instructional podcast, regardless of how much of this I've learned on my own, I'm going to be stepping on a few toes, kindda per force. I do not intend to rip anyone off! But I also would like to put out a free instructional out on the web for Spanish speakers. Are you cool with me ripping you partially off?

What are you using for capture? WMEncoder? I know, I'll go to Flash from capture, but I unless your generosity extends to messing extensively with Premiere for zooms and stuff... Any tips? And, just if I'm being stupid and crossing legal lines I haven't covered, any advice on publishing such a Podcast? Photography is my great downtime passion, so efficiency will result in a better contribution. I when I walk out of the phone booth as Clarke Kent I'm bored to tears, but still "busy".

I would figure Adobe would be thrilled to get more avid users; but that hasn't ever stopped anyone from pursuing international lawsuits before... I want to share my love of Adobe products, not say goodbye to my retirement fund, y'know? Any obstacles I'm blind to that are obvious from your perspective? I hereby swear to take any advice as generously well intentioned! If I get into trouble, it's my bad...

Thanks again Matt!

Update on your update:

It seems it's true Win won't sense Wacom pressure. Granted, I'm using an antediluvian Graphire 2, but CS3 picks it up no worries.

Thanks a lot for this site and the webcast! You've de-mystified a lot of Lightroom for me. A couple of questions (sorry if you've covered them, I'm new to your podcasts):

Can Lightroom help you ship photos of to other media (DVD et al)? I think you mentioned that if you move them off your drives your Catalog still has them, but it would be hugely useful if while doing that, Lightroom could tell me which disk I put them on and what other images went with! With high-res file sizes gobbling disk that would be an image management lifesaver!

I might have missed this one too... If you Develop in Lightroom, is there a way for your Filmstrip view to reflect that fact? It seems the only way to know is by hitting an image, hitting Reset and watching what happens...

Thanks again Matt!

Hi Matt,
A killer tip suggestion: is it possible to export .jpg incorporating an ICC Printer Profile, such as Drycreek -> Costco Frontier? This is one killer tip that, if it is possible, would make my printing painless at Costco and other off-site printers.

Many Thanks,

Hi Matt,
Sorry to weigh in so late on this, but rest assured that although it is not currently working on PC, it will be for the release version.

Can I make some suggestion, Matt. I love the lightroom killer tips. There are problems that I would like for you to set up the subtitle for the hearing impaired that has problem not understanding the video. I enjoyed working the lightroom which has alot of color corrections better than the photo shop. Again, please do think about setting up the subtitle so I wont keep asking for this again in the future time. I bet and you wont be surprised how many hearing impaired has a skill with lightroom tips but dont get with hearing the voice. The subtitle will help me and other who has the hearing loss/deaf. Again, just think for our sake.
Honestly, I do enjoy the lightroom very much. That's my hobby with this and I have also love the presets too. Keep up the good work! My suggest is for you to considering think what I would like for you to do "SUBTITLE" Pretty PlEaSe!!!!!!!

The pressure sensitivity is not currently in the Windows version of Lightroom 2 Public Beta. Not meaning to plug our own site too much but we have a number of other videos on Lightroom 2 beta and using the retouching tool over at http://cameradojo.com.
