Presets - Artistic Tints Volume 1

By mattk on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at 11:25 am | Presets.

Happy preset day folks. This time around I’ve got a few artistic tinting effects for you. This first volume focusses in on the red/orange/yellow/greenish colors. They’re great for those classic effects and you’ll find they work best on senior portraits, wedding photos, and generally photos with people in them (although I’ve used them on landscapes as well). As always, they’re free to download and I’m always anxious to hear your comments on how you use these presets and ways in which you tweak them for your own work. Enjoy!

Thanks! I like split-toning and setting hilights to the same settings as shadows, which you’ve nicely done in these convenient presets. A nice feature for when you do want to lock hilights to shadows would be to have a checkbox in LR that lets one vary the settings but keep them in synch between hilights and shadows. Thanks, Matt!

Thanks Matt. Cool stuff. I like B&W color tones, and always like seeing how other people use them.

    Keep it up…

Matt, since you’re the master (:) I’ll ask you, perhaps you know and can help me out.

How come that my photo’s look so much brighter and more vibrant in lightroom and Photoshop than they do in my internet browser?
